The RoboticsClub at California High School in San Ramon is a innovative after school program that teaches students the fundamentals of engineering design. With access to the latest technology, students build robots that compete in VEX Robot competitions. In these world wide robotics competitions, students design and create a robot specialized to complete a task. Students also learn the design processes behind construction, the usage of various professional equipment, Autodesk Inventor CAD (Computer Aided Design) software, and C Programming.
Technology
Currently, the Cal High Robotics Club uses ROBOTC as the main programming language. Cal High also competes in VEX competitions and build their robots using VEX parts.
The competition that the Cal High Robotics Team is building their robot for this year is "VEX In The Zone". The VEX competitions allow the Robotics Team to let their creativity flourish while on the quest of designing the most effective robot.
More INformation
The club is run by students with the help of the engineering and robotics teacher, Dr. John Reed. Students additionally learn to apply life skills such as cooperation, public speaking, and organization as they prepare to be successful in the current competitive technological world.
